Brüggen (German pronunciation:[ˈbʁʏɡn̩]) is a municipality in thedistrict of Viersen, inNorth Rhine-Westphalia,Germany. It is situated near the border with theNetherlands, on the riverSchwalm, approx. 15 km south ofVenlo, 11 km east ofSwalmen (Roermond) and 20 km north-west ofMönchengladbach.
