Brás is one of96 districts in the city ofSão Paulo,Brazil.[1] Administratively part of theSoutheast Zone of São Paulo, Brás is located immediately to the east of the historicdowntown in theSubprefecture of Mooca. The district is an area ofheavy industry with many factories and warehouses, known as a center of textile manufacturing.
Two sets of railroad tracks cut across the district; theBrás rail station servesMetrôLine 3 (red) and three commuter rail lines operated byCPTM:Line 10 (turquoise),11 (coral), and12 (sapphire).
Brás is famous for hosting theFeirinha da Madrugada informalstreet market.[2]
