Bosso is a village and ruralcommune in the southeastern part ofNiger.[1] As of 2011, the commune had a total population of 52,177 people.[2] It lies on theNigerian border.
In June 2013, between 5,000 and 10,000 refugees arrived here, fleeingfighting betweenBoko Haram and theNigerian Armed Forces inBorno State ofNigeria. Most blamed the military for the excessive violence and human rights violations.[3]
