TheBoroano,Boroga, orBorogano (also spelled withv) were a group ofMapuche native to theaillarehue ofBoroa inAraucanía. They were involved in several conflicts in the northernPatagonianpampas, and supported figures such asJosé Miguel Carrera, thePincheira brothers, andJuan Manuel Rosas. The military power and influence of the Boroano ended with the massacre carried out by theloncoCalfucurá in 1834 during a trade meeting.
