Borneo Football Club Samarinda (commonly known asBorneo Samarinda or justBorneo) is an Indonesian professionalfootball club based inSamarinda,East Kalimantan. The club currently competes inSuper League. The club's nickname isPesut Etam (Our Dolphins).[1]
Borneo Samarinda has won oneLiga 2 league title in the club history.
Borneo Samarinda was formed by formerPutra Samarinda supporters who were dissatisfied with their team's lack of achievements.[2] PT Nahusam Pratama Indonesia boughtPerseba Super Bangkalan on 7 March 2014, which gave them direct license to compete in the2014 Liga Indonesia Premier Division, and changed the name toPusamania Borneo Football Club.[3][4]
After beatingPSGC Ciamis on penalties in the2014 Liga Indonesia Premier Division semi-final, they were promoted to theIndonesia Super League.[5] On 27 November 2014, Borneo FC won their first title by becoming champion of the2014 Liga Indonesia Premier Division after beatingPersiwa Wamena 2–1 in the final.[6]
Borneo Samarinda competed in the2024–25 ASEAN Club Championship which is their first official participation in international tournament. The club was then drawn in a group alongside Thai clubBuriram United, Singaporean clubLion City Sailors, Malaysian clubKuala Lumpur City, Philippines clubKaya—Iloilo and Vietnamese clubCông An Hà Nội. On 22 August 2024, Borneo Samarinda won 3–0 againstLion City Sailors at home.
Borneo Samarinda's supporters are calledPusamania.
Derby Kaltim (East Borneo derby), is the match of Borneo againstPersiba Balikpapan.
Derby Papadaan is the match of Borneo againstBarito Putera (The Brother's Derby).
Derby Mahakam is the match of Borneo againstPS Mitra Kukar. It is named after the fact that Samarinda andTenggarong are followed by theMahakam River.
Suzuki signed a two-year sponsorship deal with Borneo Samarinda on 22 April 2014.[8] On 2 May 2014,Bankaltim became their shirt sponsor for home and away matches.[9]

Borneo Samarinda plays their home matches at theSegiri Stadium.[16] In 2023, the club started using theBatakan Stadium inBalikpapan due to the renovation of the Segiri Stadium.[17] he club also used theSempaja Stadium as their training ground.[18]
