Born (Dutch:[ˈbɔr(ə)n];Limburgish:Bor[bɔʀ]) is a village in theDutch municipality ofSittard-Geleen. It has a port on theJulianakanaal (Juliana canal) and has a zoo.[3] Born is also the site of the car factoryVDL Nedcar and the headquarters and European Distribution Center ofMitsubishi Motors Europe.
Until 2001, Born was a separate municipality (population about 15,000), that included the villages Born,Buchten [nl],Holtum [nl],Grevenbicht,Papenhoven [nl] andObbicht [nl].
