TheBoomi River, ananabranch of theBarwon River and part of theMacintyre catchment within theMurray–Darling basin, is located in thenorth–western slopes region ofNew South Wales, flowing downstream into theSouth Downs region ofQueensland,Australia.
The river rises about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) east ofGundabloui, and flows generally north–east, joined by five minortributaries, before reaching itsconfluence with theMacintyre River, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) north–east ofBoomi.[1] The river descends 40 metres (130 ft) over its 231-kilometre (144 mi)course.[2]
The Boomi River flows past, but not through, the town ofMungindi.
