Johannes Gerhardus Pienaar "Boom" Prinsloo (born 12 March 1989) is a former South Africanrugby union player who regularly played as aloose forward. He made 51 appearances for theCheetahs inSuper Rugby from 2012 to 2017, and played domestically for theFree State Cheetahs from 2010 to 2016 and for theBlue Bulls in 2017 and 2018. He also playedrugby sevens forSouth Africa from 2010 to 2012.

He retired from rugby in September 2018.[1]

Career

Prinsloo is aBloemfontein native and represented theFree State Cheetahs in theCurrie Cup and theCheetahs inSuper Rugby.[2]

He previously played for theUFS Shimlas in the2010 Varsity Cup where he notched up a seven tries in eight appearances and won the competitions' 'Player that Rocks' award.[3]

International

Prinsloo represented theBlitzbokke between 2010 and 2012 and played in a total of 7IRB Sevens World Series tournaments.[4]
