Bongani Jele (born 1 April 1986) is a South African cricketumpire.[1][2] He is part ofCricket South Africa's umpire panel forfirst-class matches.[3] Along withAdrian Holdstock, he umpired in the final of the2015–16 Ram Slam T20 Challenge in December 2015[4] and officiated in thefirst-class tour match betweenSouth Africa A and England XI later the same month.[5]
He made hisOne Day International (ODI) umpiring debut in a match betweenAustralia and Ireland inBenoni, South Africa, on 27 September 2016.[6] His firstTwenty20 International (T20I) match as an umpire was on 22 January 2017 whenSouth Africa played Sri Lanka inJohannesburg.[7] He was one of the sixteen umpires for the2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup tournament in South Africa.[8]
