Bokura ga Ita (僕等がいた) is a 2012 Japanese film based on the manga of the same name,We Were There written byYūki Obata.[1] It is directed by the directorTakahiro Miki and starsToma Ikuta,Yuriko Yoshitaka.[1] The film was released in two parts, with the first released in Japanese cinemas on 17 March 2012,[2] and the second part was released on 21 April 2012.[3]
Bokura ga Ita was first serialized inBetsucomi, and it won the 50thShogakukan Manga Award forShōjo manga.[4] DirectorTakahiro Miki directed the film,[1] and film produced byTomoko Yoshida.[1]
The main cast ofBokura ga Ita was revealed on 2 May 2011.[3]Toma Ikuta, who previously starred in the filmsHanamizuki andNo Longer Human,[3] would be starring in this film as Motoharu Yano, a boy who is popular with most girls in the class.[2] ActressYuriko Yoshitaka, the recipient of the Best Newcomer award at the28th Yokohama Film Festival,[3] would star as Nanami Takahashi, a classmate of Motoharu.[4] In addition,Sosuke Takaoka would play the role of Masafumi Takeuchi, Yano's close friend, andYuika Motokariya would play Yuri Yamamoto, the younger sister of Motoharu's late girlfriend.[4]
The filming ofBokura ga Ita took place inKushiro,Hokkaido.[5] This is the hometown ofYuki Obata, the manga artist ofBokura ga Ita, the manga this film is based on.[5] The filming began in May 2011.[5] The film was filmed inSapporo,Hokkaido and inTokyo.[2]
