TheBobo language is aMande language ofBurkina Faso andMali; the western city ofBobo Dioulasso is named partly for theBobo people. It consists of Southern and Northern dialect. The Northern dialect is also known as Konabéré. Northern and Southern Bobo share only 20%–30% intelligibility according toEthnologue, and by that standard are considered separate languages.

The termsBobo Fing 'Black Bobo' andBobo Madaré are used to distinguish them fromBobo Gbe 'White Bobo' and theBobo Oule 'Red Bobo' of Burkina.
