Blood Covenant[1][2] is an Indianheavy metal band, considered the pioneers[3] of metal inSouth India[4] fromChennai, formed in 2005.[5][6]

History

The band was a major force in thedeath metal,thrash metal andchristian metal genres inIndia starting from the late 1990s because of its vocalist Eddie's earlier bands like Bonesaw.[7] Their later experiments are influenced byblack metal.[8] Currently the band's sound is a mix ofSwedish death metal andBrazilian thrash metal forming into Blood Covenant's own thrash/death style.[9] The band's current line up consists of vocalist Eddie Prithviraj, guitarist Ronald Nathanael, bassist Sibi Boycott Walter and drummer Brijesh Sereno.

Blood Covenant has toured all major Indian cities doing live shows.[4] Their most active years were from 2005 to 2009. Since 2010 the band has been involved in projects withFrench andSwedish metal artists to work on their upcoming album. The band's influences includeMortification,Living Sacrifice,Extol,Crimson Moonlight,Horde,Frost Like Ashes, andAntestor.[8] All the lyrical content is based on theNew Testament of the Bible.[1][10][11][12][13][14]
