Blackfoot River Wildlife Management Area at 2,400 acres (9.7 km2) is anIdahowildlife management area inCaribou County near the town ofSoda Springs.[1] The location of the WMA along theBlackfoot River was homesteaded by the Rasmussen family in 1883. It was sold to John Jay Stocking in 1907 and remained in the family for 3 generations before being purchased by theConservation Fund in 1994, which sold it to theIdaho Department of Fish and Game.[2]
The WMA was established to provide access to and improvewestslope cutthroat trout habitat and other game species.[3]Moose,elk, andmule deer are the most common large game species found in the WMA.[4]
