Black Mountain Wilderness is a protectedwilderness area to the southwest of theTiefort Mountains andFort Irwin in theU.S. state ofCalifornia. Established in 1994, the area is managed by theBureau of Land Management.[1]
The wilderness includes its namesakemesaBlack Mountain in the northwestern section of the area, rising to an elevation of 3,941 feet (1201 m) from theMojave Desert. Wildlife includesgolden eagles andprairie falcons.[2]
