Biswanath Mukherjee (17 April 1915 – 16 October 1991) was an Indian politician and leader ofCommunist Party of India. He was elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly in 1971 fromMidnapore Constituency and 1977 and 1982 fromTamluk Constituency.[1][2]
He started his political career as a student; he was one of the founder leaders ofAll India Students' Federation in Bengal. He was the Joint Secretary of AISF.[3] In 1938, students of Calcutta University refused to salute the British flag and restricted bySyama Prasad Mukherjee. He led the huge students' movement to revoke their restriction.[4]
He was married toGeeta Mukherjee on 8 November 1942.[5][6]
