TheBishop of Crediton is anepiscopal title which takes its name from the town ofCrediton in Devon, England. Since 1897, it has been used by theChurch of England as the title of asuffragan bishop who, along with theBishop of Plymouth, assists thediocesanBishop of Exeter in overseeing theDiocese of Exeter.[1]
The title was originally used by theAnglo-Saxons in the 10th and 11th centuries for a diocese covering Devon and Cornwall.[2][3]
