TheBishop of Brixworth is anepiscopal title used by asuffragan bishop of theChurch of EnglandDiocese of Peterborough, in theProvince of Canterbury,England.[1] The title takes its name after the village ofBrixworth inNorthamptonshire and has shared responsibility (with thediocesan bishop) over the whole diocese.[2] Following a proposal initiated byBill Westwood,Bishop of Peterborough in 1985,[3] and with the agreement of theGeneral Synod of the Church of England in July 1987,[4] the See was erected byQueen-in-Council on July 26, 1988.[5]
The role is currently vacant followingJohn Holbrook's retirement on 30 September 2025.[6]
