Bingfen (Chinese:冰粉;pinyin:bīngfěn), also calledice jelly, is aChinese dessert native toSouthwest China in provinces such asSichuan,Guizhou, andYunnan. It is served as a bowl of iced transparent jelly, traditionally made from the seeds of theNicandra physalodes plant. In modern times, bingfen can also be made fromkonjac root.[1][2] The jelly can be topped with toppings likehaw flakes andwolfberries.[3][4] It is commonly sold in the summertime as astreet food.[3][5]
