Binah Magazine (Hebrew:בינה, "Insight") is aJewish women's magazine published weekly by Binah Magazine Corporation in theUnited States. Additional distribution takes place in theUnited Kingdom andIsrael. Binah Magazine Corporation is a subsidiary ofHamodia Publishing Corporation. The magazine debuted inElul 5766 (Fall 2006).[1]

Binah features articles appealing to Jewish women, including family matters, health, recipes, short stories and serialized novels.[2] It is known for its full-color, glossy pages and its coverage of topics not usually discussed in mainstreamOrthodox Jewish publications,[3] such asdivorce,single-parenting, home budgeting, and medical conditions. Like other Orthodox publications,Binah does not publish photos of women.[4] Its articles often create abuzz in Orthodox circles and online blogs. For example, a 2012 article on summer camp security led to a summer-camp inspection byNew York AssemblymanDov Hikind andNew York State Senate hopefulSimcha Felder (he was elected to office a few months later) at Camp Agudah in upstate New York.[5]

  • Shortchanged[9]

Binah's first food editor, Estee Kafra, spun off her weeklykosher recipe column into two cookbooks,Spice It Right[10] andCooking With Color.[11]
