Billy Ray Adams (October 18, 1938 – June 1, 2023) was an Americancollege football player for theOle Miss Rebels.[1][2] He was named a first-teamAll-American as asenior in1961.[1][3]
Adams was born on October 18, 1938, inReform, Alabama.[4][5] He grew up inColumbus, Mississippi, where he graduated fromStephen D. Lee High School. He attended theUniversity of Mississippi and played under coachJohnny Vaught on his Rebels teams from 1959 to 1961 as a left cornerback and fullback.[6] Adams graduated in 1962.[2] He was inducted into theMississippi Sports Hall of Fame in 1987.[4]
Adams died inMadison, Mississippi, on June 1, 2023, at the age of 84.[2]
