Bill Murray (born July 3, 1997) is an American professionalfootballguard for theIndianapolis Colts of theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for theWilliam & Mary Tribe.

Early life

Bill was born inMillington, New Jersey to Doug and Alison Murray.[1] At theDelbarton School, Murray played both football and lacrosse. Following his high school success, Murray committed toWilliam & Mary.

College career

AtWilliam & Mary, Murray was a two-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection and a three-year starter who finished his career with 143 tackles, 19 sacks, 10 blocks, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and six passes defended. Murray was a two-year letter winner and served as a team captain as a senior.[2]

New England Patriots

Following his senior year, Murray signed with theNew England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He spent his entire rookie season on the team'spractice squad.

On August 31, 2021, Murray was waived by the Patriots and re-signed to the practice squad.[4][5]

On February 7, 2022, Murray signed a reserve/future contract.[6] On July 25, Murray converted fromdefensive tackle toguard.[7] He was waived on August 30, and signed to the practice squad the next day.[8][9] He signed a reserve/future contract with New England on January 24, 2023.[10] Murray was released by the Patriots on August 29.[11]

Chicago Bears

On August 31, 2023, Murray was signed to theChicago Bears' practice squad.[12] He signed a reserve/future contract with Chicago on January 8, 2024.[13]

On April 8, 2025, Murray signed his exclusive rights free agent contract with the Bears.[14] He was waived on August 26 with an injury designation.[15]

New England Patriots (second stint)

On November 25, 2025, Murray was signed to the New England Patriots' practice squad.[16] The Patriots released Murray on December 8.[17]

Indianapolis Colts

On December 16, 2025, Murray was signed to theIndianapolis Colts' practice squad.[18] He signed a reserve/future contract with Indianapolis on January 5, 2026.[19]
