Bičje (pronounced[ˈbiːtʃjɛ];German:Witschje[2]) is a small settlement west of the town ofGrosuplje in centralSlovenia. The area is part of the historical region ofLower Carniola. TheMunicipality of Grosuplje is now included in theCentral Slovenia Statistical Region.[3]
Bičje was attested in written records asBizi in 1058,Niderm Veiczs in 1329,Obêrfeytsch in 1383,Veitsch in 1397, andIzich in 1444, among other spellings.[4]
