Bernard Privat (French pronunciation:[bɛʁnaʁpʁiva]; 25 October 1914 – 11 October 1985) was aFrench writer and editor.
Bernard Privat received thePrix Femina forAu pied du mur in 1959.
He was also in charge of theéditions Grasset for over twenty-five years. AsBernard Grasset's nephew, Bernard Privat took the job in 1955.[1][2] In 1967, along with his friendJean-Claude Fasquelle, he merged his publishing company with theéditions Fasquelle. He would go on to publish authors such asYves Berger,François Nourissier,Françoise Mallet-Joris,Matthieu Galey,Françoise Verny, andEdmonde Charles-Roux, who received thePrix Goncourt withOublier Palerme.[3] Bernard Privat left his job at the éditions Grasset in 1981.
