Beni Mazar (Arabic:بَنِي مَزَار) is a ruraltown inEgypt. It is located in theMinya Governorate, on the west bank of theNile. The older name of the town isShinwada (Arabic:شِنُوادة or شِنُوَدة) which comes from SahidicCoptic:ϭⲓⲛⲟⲩⲟⲟⲧⲉ (Bohairic: ϣⲓⲛⲟⲩⲟϯ)[2] meaning "kailyard".[3]
