Belmonte de Gracián (Aragonese:Belmón de Grazián) is a village nearCalatayud in theprovince of Zaragoza inAragon, Spain. It is a fortified village which sits at the foot of a 15th-century castle.

It is the birthplace ofBaltasar Gracián y Morales, and in 1985 was renamed toBelmonte de Gracián in his honour. Previously the town was known asBelmonte de Calatayud andBelmonte del Río Perejiles.[2][3]

The archaeological remains of theCeltiberian and Romano-Celtiberian town ofSegeda-Sekeiza are located between Belmonte de Gracián and the nearby town ofMara.

  • Church of St. Michael (15th century), in Gothic style. It has aMudéjar bell tower.
  • Hermitage of the Castle
