TheBeijing Municipal Public Security Bureau (Chinese:北京市公安局;pinyin:Běijīng Shì Gōng'ānjú) is a department of theBeijing Municipal People's Government. It serves as the city'spublic security bureau and branch of thepeople's police under theMinistry of Public Security (MPS) The headquarters is inQianmen,Dongcheng District.[2]
The bureau is the host of theBeijing SWAT, reportedly one of the most well trained and best equipped special police (特警;Tèjǐng) teams in the entire country.[2] The director of the Beijing Public Security Bureau generally serves concurrently as aVice Minister of Public Security.[3]
