Beijing–Tangshan intercity railway is ahigh-speed railway connectingBeijing andTangshan in easternHebei. The railway opened on 30 December 2022.[2]
FromBeijing railway station[1] toBaodi railway station, theBeijing–Binhai intercity railway will share its northern segment with the Beijing–Tangshan intercity railway before continuing southeast-ward toBinhai West railway station.[3]
The railway will begin atBeijing railway station, which is located inDongcheng District of Beijing.[1] TheBeijing Sub-Center railway station is under construction and will be finished in 2025. And then it crossing intoHebei'sXianghe County. Next it crossesTianjin'sBaodi District to re-enter Hebei atTangshan City'sYutian County andFengrun District. Finally, it will terminate atTangshan railway station. Total line length of will be approximately 163 km (101 mi), with a total of 8 stations and a design speed of 350 km/h (220 mph).[4]
Construction on the railway was originally scheduled to start in 2009[5] but the completion has been delayed after a nationwide rail review following the 2011 Wenzhou Rail Incident. Construction was eventually started on 29 December 2015.[6] The railway opened on 30 December 2022.[2][7]
