Before the Impact, or simplyBTI, is aprofessional wrestlingstreaming television program produced by the American promotionTotal Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA; then known as Impact Wrestling) that premiered on February 16, 2021, onAXS TV in theUnited States, owned by parent companyAnthem Sports & Entertainment. The show would also be made available onTNA+, as well as the promotion'sYouTube channel andFacebook page.[1]
BTI is apre-show airing before the weekly broadcast of the flagship show,Impact!, that features recaps, previews, and an exclusive match.
The show's final episode aired on October 19, 2023. In 2024, it was replaced by a revival ofTNA Xplosion.[2]
On February 10, 2021,Impact Wrestling announced the launch of a new program calledBefore the Impact, which will lead into the weeklyImpact! broadcast.[3]Josh Mathews serves as both senior producer and co-host, alongside Impact interviewerGia Miller, and, previously,NashvillesportscasterJon Burton.BTI features previews of upcoming matches, interviews with theImpact roster, behind-the-scenes access, and an exclusive match.[3] Insider George Iceman hosts a segment called “Iceman’s Intel”, which features news relating to the upcomingImpact episode.[3]
The firstBTI match featuredDecay (Black Taurus andCrazzy Steve) (accompanied byRosemary) facing XXXL (Acey Romero andLarry D).[4]BTI would first crossover withImpact! on their June 3 episodes, whenJosh Alexander facedT. J. Perkins for theX Division Championship in a 60-minuteIron man match. The match began onBTI and concluded in the opening minutes ofImpact!.[5]
The wrestlers featured onBTI take part in scriptedfeuds andstorylines. Wrestlers are portrayed asheroes,villains, orless distinguishable characters in scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.

On April 8, 2021,BTI, along withImpact!, would move to Thursday nights.[6]
Beginning with the January 20, 2022 episode,BTI moved toImpact Plus and Impact'sYouTube channel andFacebook page.[1] The move coincided with the return ofNew Japan Pro Wrestling programming toAXS TV.[7]
