County in Hormozgan, Iran
Bastak County (Persian :شهرستان بستک ) is inHormozgan province, Iran. Its capital is the city ofBastak .[ 3]
After the 2016 National Census, the villages ofHenguiyeh ,[ 4] Kuhij ,[ 5] andKukherdharang [ 6] were elevated to city status.
Bastak was traditionally part of theregion of Irahistan . Bastak's inhabitants areSunni Muslim and speak Achomi (Larestani) language. The Bastaki accent ofAchomi language is very similar to the Khonji, Gerashi and Fedaghi and Evazi and other regional accents.[citation needed ]
At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 65,716 in 13,563 households.[ 7] The following census in 2011 counted 80,119 people in 18,780 households.[ 8] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 80,492 in 21,684 households.[ 2]
