Basses Loaded is the 21st album by American rock bandMelvins, released on June 3, 2016, through Ipecac Recordings. It features earlier members, but not all of them, that has been a part of the Melvins over the previous decade, centered around the manybass guitar players to have passed through the band.Steven Shane McDonald ofRedd Kross makes his debut with the Melvins, whileNirvana co-founderKrist Novoselic makes a guest appearance.[6]
Nine songs from the album were previously released throughAmphetamine Reptile Records on two limited edition EPs (Beer Hippy andWar Pussy) and in a split-release withLe Butcherettes (Chaos as Usual). A version of the song "Choco Plumbing" appeared on theCartoon Network programUncle Grandpa in the episode "Uncle Melvins".[7]
