Basketball England is thegoverning body for the sport ofbasketball inEngland. It is responsible for overseeing the development, promotion, and administration of basketball throughout England.
The organisation operates theNational Basketball League, as well as theEngland men's national basketball team andEngland women's national basketball team.
The headquarters of the organisation is at theNational Squash Centre inManchester. It is anon-profit organisation.
Basketball England was founded in 1936 as theAmateur Basketball Association of England and Wales.[3]
In 2006, the organisation, alongsideBasketball Scotland andBasketball Wales, helped establishGreat Britain Basketball.[citation needed]
In September 2014, the organisation announced a rebrand fromEngland Basketball toBasketball England.[4][5]
