The1st constituency of the Bas-Rhin is a French legislativeconstituency in theBas-Rhindépartement,Alsace.

Description

[edit]

The constituency includes the centre and immediate northern and southern cantons ofStrasbourg. All the cantons were held by parties of the left; three for thePS and one forThe Greens. It is therefore no surprise that the seat returned aPS member to theNational Assembly between 1997 and 2017. However, the seat was won by the centristLREM party in2017, before swinging back to the left in2022, when it was gained bySandra Regol forEELV, as part of the left-wingNUPES alliance.
