TheBaptist Union of Wales, abbreviatedBUW (Welsh:Undeb Bedyddwyr Cymru;UBC), is aBaptistdenomination inWales,United Kingdom. The Union is affiliated with theBaptist World Alliance, theEuropean Baptist Federation, theFree Church Federation, theChurches Together in Wales. The Baptist Union of Wales' headquarters is located inCarmarthen,Carmarthenshire.

ThePuritanministerHugh Evans was the first minister to preach Baptist doctrines in Wales, around 1646, in the parishes ofLlan-hir,Cefnllys,Nantmel, andLlanddewi Ystradenny, as well as in districts across the upperWye Valley inBreconshire.[1][2] In 1649,John Myles andThomas Proud were appointed ministers atIlston parish, before emigrating toSwansea, Massachusetts in 1663.[3][4] Myles and Proud were connected to theParticular Baptists inLondon. In 1650, three Baptist churches held the first Baptist General Assembly in Wales. A national body was organized in 1866.[5]
According to a census published by the association in 2023, it claimed 8,105 members and 315 churches.[6]
