Banu Lam

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Banu Lam (Arabic:بنو لام) is anArab tribe of centralArabia and southernIraq. The tribe claims descent from the ancient Arab tribe ofTayy. It dominated westernNejd (the region betweenMedina andal-Yamama) before the 15th century. The tribe split into three mainbedouin (nomadic) groups: the Fudhool, the Al Kathir, and theAl Mughira. Many clans from Bani Lam, however, remained in Nejd as settled townspeople.[1]
