TheBandama River is the longest river inIvory Coast with a length of some 800 kilometers. The south-flowing river is fed by theMarahoué,Solomougou,Kan andNzi rivers and empties into theTagba Lagoon and theGulf of Guinea.[1]

The Bandama flows throughLake Kossou, a large artificial lake created in 1973 by the construction of theKossou Dam atKossou.

Yamoussoukro, the capital ofIvory Coast, is located adjacent to the Bandama River.

TheRallye Côte d'Ivoire is often hosted around the Bandama.
