Baliari (also called Balihari) is aneighbourhood inDhanbad inDhanbad Sadar subdivision ofDhanbad district inJharkhandstate,India.

The formercensus town was combined with other urban units to formDhanbad Municipal Corporation in 2006.[1][2]
Baliari is part of Ward No. 12 of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation.[3]
The region shown in the map is a part of the undulatinguplands bustling with coalmines. TheDamodar River, the most important river of theChota Nagpur Plateau, flows along the southern border. A major part of the area shown in the map is part ofDhanbad Municipal Corporation, an urban area. The places in the DMC area are marked asneighbourhoods. The western part of the region shown in the map is covered byDhanbad (community development block). 57% of the population of Dhanbad CD block reside in rural areas and 43% reside in urban areas, The east-central part of the region shown in the map is covered byBaliapur (community development block). 86% of the population of Baliapur CD block reside in rural areas and 14% reside in urban areas. Baliari has an average literacy rate of 59%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 67% of the males and 33% of females literate. 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
