Ancient town in Cappadocia, now modern Turkey

Balbissa was a town ofancient Cappadocia still inhabited inByzantine times.[1] The name Balbissa does not occur in ancient authors but is inferred fromepigraphic and other evidence.[1]

A bishop of Balbissa, Leontius was accused ofBogomilism and tried before the synod in Constantinople in 1143.[2]

Its site is located nearYaylaköy,Asiatic Turkey.[1][3]
