TheBakotsu(馬骨;lit. 'horse bone') is one of the 16yōkai depicted in theTosa Obake Zōshi, drawn during theEdo period; it appears as a skeletal, flaminghorse, claimed to be the spirit of a horse that perished in a fire.^[1]
