TheBailey Solo is a Britishparamotor that was designed and produced byBailey Aviation ofBassingbourn,Royston forpowered paragliding. Now out of production, when it was available the aircraft was supplied complete and ready-to-fly.[1]
The Solo was designed to comply with the USFAR 103 Ultralight Vehicles rules as well as European regulations. It features aparaglider-style wing, single-place accommodation and a single 14 hp (10 kW)Solo 210 engine inpusher configuration with areduction drive and a 110 cm (43 in) diameter three-bladed compositeGermanHelix-Carbon propeller. The fuel tank capacity is 10 litres (2.2 imp gal; 2.6 US gal). The aircraft backpack chassis is built so that it can be quickly disassembled into five parts for ground transport and storage.[1]
As is the case with all paramotors, take-off and landing is accomplished by foot. Inflight steering is accomplished via handles that actuate the canopy brakes, creating roll and yaw.[1]
