As per orders of theDelimitation Commission, No. 94 Bagdah Assembly constituency (SC) is composed of the following:Bagdah community development block and Gangrapota, Sundarpur andTengragram panchayats ofBangaon community development block.[1]

Bagdah Assembly constituency (SC) is part of No. 14Bangaon (Lok Sabha constituency) (SC).[1] It was earlier part ofBarasat (Lok Sabha constituency).[2]

1977-2006

Contests in most years were multi cornered but only winners and runners are being mentioned. Kamalakshmi Biswas of Forward Bloc defeatedDulal Chandra Bar of Trinamool Congress in 2001,[9] Kalidas Adhikari ofCongress in 1996,[10] and Ram Chandra Bose of Congress in 1991.[11] Apurba Lal Majumdar of Congress defeatedKamalakshi Biswas of Forward Bloc in 1987.[12] Kamalakshmi Biswas of Forward Bloc defeated Apurba Lal Majumdar of Congress in 1982[13] and Independent in 1977.[14][15]

1962-1972

Apurba Lal Majumdar of Forward Bloc won in 1972,[16] 1971,[17] 1969[18] and 1967.[19] Manindra Bhusan Biswas of Congress won in1962.[20] Prior to that the Bagdah seat did not exist.
