Bacon soup is asoup made withbacon. Generally a number ofvegetables are added[1] and often a thickening agent such aspearl barley,lentils[2] orcorn flour. It can be added to Italianminestrone soup to enhance the flavor.[3]
Many variations exist, which may incorporate primary ingredients such ascabbage,[4][5] beans,[6] potato,[7] lentils, spinach, peas, cauliflower, broccoli, leeks, pumpkin[8] and rice.[9]
Bacon is a common addition to many soups including creamy soups, especially those with a mild flavor that will not overpower the bacon.[10]
