TheBBC Board is the governingboard of theBritish Broadcasting Corporation. The board replaced theBBC Trust in April 2017.[1]

The chair and four non-executive members representing the four nations are appointed by theKing-in-Council, on the advice of the UK Secretary of State.[clarification needed] Five other non-executive members are appointed by the board and the four executive members are chosen by the board.[2]

  1. ^The title of deputy chair is an honorary one heldex-officio by the chair of the BBC's Commercial Board[3]
  2. ^Deborah Turness is the outgoing CEO of BBC News and Current Affairs, but after announcing her resignation from that role she stood down from the board.[4]
  3. ^Shumeet Banerji resigned from the board on 21 November 2025, and a replacement has yet to be appointed.[5]
