Large proline-rich protein BAT3 is aprotein that in humans is encoded by theBAT3gene.[5][6]
Acluster of genes, BAT1-BAT5, has been localized in the vicinity of the genes forTNF alpha and TNF beta. These genes are all within the humanmajor histocompatibility complex class III region. The protein encoded by this gene is anuclear protein. It has been implicated in the control ofapoptosis and regulatingheat shock protein. There are three alternatively splicedtranscript variants described for this gene.[6]
