Benjamin Cook Cubbage (October 1, 1895 – May 7, 1961)[1] was anAmerican football player and coach of football andbasketball. He served as the head football coach Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (VPI)—now known asVirginia Tech—from 1921 to 1925, compiled a record of 30–12–6. Cubbage was also the head basketball coach at VPI for one season, in 1923–24, tallying a mark of 5–13.
After graduating fromCentral High School inPhiladelphia, Cubbage playedcollege football atPennsylvania State University as anend andtackle.[2] He played professionally as aguard for theMassillon Tigers of the "Ohio League" during the team's1919 season.
