TheAzumi shrew (Sorex hosonoi) is a species ofmammal in the familySoricidae. It isendemic toJapan, where it is found in the mountainous regions of centralHonshu Island. It is a close relative of theEurasian least shrew (Sorex minutissimus).[2] It is threatened byhabitat loss.
