Ayn al-Shams (Arabic:عين الشمس) is a village in northernSyria, administratively part of theHama Governorate, located inHoms Gap southwest ofHama. Nearby localities includeAyn Halaqim,Nisaf andBaarin to the east, andMashta al-Helu andal-Kafrun to the south. According to theSyria Central Bureau of Statistics, Ayn al-Shams had a population of 2,327 in the 2004 census.[1]
