Aymeric Caron (French pronunciation:[ɛmʁikkaʁɔ̃]; born 4 December 1971) is a French politician and formerradio andtelevision journalist who has represented the18th constituency ofParis in theNational Assembly since2022.[1] He was elected as a member of theEcological Revolution for the Living (REV) within theNew Ecological and Social People's Union (NUPES) alliance. As the party's soleMember of Parliament, Caron sits with theLa France Insoumise group.
Caron is the son of a teacher and primary school director and a nurse mother.[2] He first thought about becoming acartoonist, but after having seen awar reporter, he found his vocation of journalist.[3] He studied aClasse préparatoire lettres et sciences sociales (literature and social science) at theLycée Faidherbe inLille and then graduated at theÉcole supérieure de journalisme de Lille in May 1995. He then left France to work inShanghai in a studio of radiophonic production of the French consulate. He came back in France working for the channelsTF1,LCI andFrance 3.
In 1998, he joinedCanal+ working as a journalist. He is in charge by the redaction of the channel, to cover different conflicts like those fromKosovo,Afghanistan,Ivory Coast,Congo andIraq.
