Axiom Mission5 (orAx-5) is a proposedprivate spaceflight to theInternational Space Station operated byAxiom Space and use aSpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft. The flight would launch no earlier than December 2025 and last about two weeks.
Axiom Mission 5 will carry a professionally trained commander and three private astronauts.[2] When it was announced in 2023 that Axiom would send aHungraian Astronaut from theHSO to the ISS, it was speculated that the mission would be Ax-5, however, Hungarian astronautTibor Kapu would be assigned to Ax-4.[3]
TheCzech government had signed a memorandum of understanding with Axiom in 2024 to launch the first Czech astronaut, ESA astronautAleš Svoboda, on a future mission as part of the "Czech Journey to Space".[4]
However, the British government also announced that they were planning on buying all four seats on an upcoming Axiom mission for astronautsMeganne Christian,Rosemary Coogan,John McFall, andTimothy Peake. Both crew and specific mission are yet to be confirmed.[4]
