Avazan (Armenian:Ավազան) is a village in theVardenis Municipality of theGegharkunik Province ofArmenia.[2] The village was populated byAzerbaijanis before theexodus of Azerbaijanis from Armenia after the outbreak of theNagorno-Karabakh conflict. In 1988-1989 Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan settled in the village.[3]
