Auwa Books is a publishingimprint founded byQuestlove in 2023.
Auwa Books was announced in March 2023 as a new imprint of American book publishing companyFarrar, Straus and Giroux.[1] The name Auwa is taken from abird-call noise heard inPrince songs "Baby I'm a Star" and "Eye No".[1]
The imprint's first publication wasThank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin), an autobiography by Sly Stone written withBen Greenman published 17 October 2023.[2] Auwa's second book will beHip-Hop Is History, authored by Questlove and Greenman, to be published in 2024,[3] followed by planned titles byDrew Afualo,Josh Luber,Derrick Palmer,[4]Hanif Abdurraqib,Wesley Morris, andJacqueline Woodson.[5]
